It’s almost certain that England manager Fabio Capello will be packing his bags and leaving his job after the European Championships (Euro 2012), but he’s not sure what he’s going to do next. He said recently that one possibility is that he’ll return to his native Italy and start working as a television commentator for football games. However, the former boss of Real Madrid and AC Milan said he’s not sure if he wants to leave football management just yet.

The 65-year-old recently won a special critics’ honour during an annual awards ceremony in Milan known as the Oscar del Calcio awards, which pays tribute to the beat referee, club, manager, and player in the Italian Serie A league. After the ceremony he said he’s sure he’ll stay on until the end of Euro 2012, which runs from June 8 to July 1st in Poland and Ukraine this summer.

He said he’ll just wait until the tournament is over and see what he feels like doing. He added that he’s enjoyed his time in England, but is an Italian at heart and naturally misses his homeland sometimes. When asked about the upcoming Euro 2012 event, Capello said Spain has to be one of the favourites since they’re the reigning European and World champions, even though England beat them 1-0 at Wembley in a friendly back in November.

Capello said that Spain made a great impression on him during that game because their ball possession skills were simply amazing. He knows England is in for a tough time at the event since they’ve been placed in a group with Sweden, France, and Ukraine, which is one of the host nations along with Poland. To make matters even tougher, England will have to play their first two Group D matches against France and Sweden without striker Wayne Rooney.

The 26-year-old Rooney was sent off in his last qualifying game in Montenegro. He was originally suspended for a total of three games, which meant he would have missed all of England’s group-stage contests, but UEFA reduced the suspension to two games matches back in December.
